The healthy artist is fully present and aware whilst striving to live a life of cultivation and alignment.
People who are authentic experience life through active, spontaneous engagement. Osho describes creativity as the "greatest rebellion." Societal conditioning and its repressive force makes it difficult to live a life of creative spontaneity. It blocks the flow of creativity and expression and thus makes us sick. The sickness described is disease = dis - ease, the kind of unwell feeling that comes about when one is not at ease within oneself.

Artists actively seek Presence. They work towards a state whereby they can accept their whole being into the creative process. Osho makes the point that any life lived fully will be creative. He talks of the three C's of creativity.
The artist who can develop these three qualities simultaneously becomes three dimensional and has a quality of depth. This makes both the artwork/creative work and the life of the artist inspiring.
