Integrating Artistic Processes in Middle Schooling

Why Do We Teach Art? The Middle Schooling concept embraces the idea of real world experiencing. The students grow food, prepare it and take it to the table or the market

We value Careers Education and Life Long Learning as an empowering focus of the curriculum

This type of project would have a variety of integrated aspects to it

Gardening can be a form of Artistic as well as Natural Scientific Process.

Integration of class activities can have an impact on Careers Education. It represents many Artistic Career Pathways or Artistic aspects of Chosen Career Pathways.

Students can explore many aspects of Personal and Social Development in the context of careers.

We view Career Education as Life’s Career rather than just a work-oriented viewpoint.

Students can explore issues involving

The students may undertake a personal inquiry into career pathways such as

These days many people telecommute and work from home.

Students are encouraged to be able to develop a wide range of skills and become independent and self-sufficient. Students will need to exercise a wide variety of skills to get their product to the local market. They would also be encouraged to explore the possibility of Global Marketing Online

The students may find the incentive to develop artistic skills so that they can display their stall neatly and attractively.

When devising a marketing strategy the students will need to develop an intuition about concept design. Graphic Organisors can be a helpful tool when they are planning the stages of production and marketing of their product. (See how one is used)

A project like this would allow the Creative Arts Teacher combine Visual Art and Art /Tech in these ways

They would be encouraged to develop their designs in software packages such as

  1. Photoshop
  2. Illustrator
  3. InDesign
  4. FrontPage
  5. Flash
